What should I be for Halloween?

I like to plan way ahead for Halloween and usually have an idea by now but none has come to me yet. I go to a Halloween parade every year and like to dress up as something recognizable, usually a famous character, because I love the attention I get from other fans. In the past I made costumes of Lock, Shock, and Barrel (from Nightmare Before Christmas) for me and two friends, and we were a huge hit. I've also done the Witch King and Frodo from Lord of the Rings. I'd like to do something in that vein, or maybe try something totally new. What were some of your favorite costumes?
