Should I sue them both?

I was scammed. The guy misrepresented the item he sold to me. I am contemplating taking legal action against him. The thing is the actual transaction occurred between myself and a woman claiming to be his wife. She may or may not actually be, though i am pretty sure they have kids together. Do I sue him b/c he is the one who lied about the item, or do I sue her b/c she was the one I gave my money to?or both?
