Valentine's day etiquette question?

Would it be considered rude for those in a relationship or married to wish their tragically single friends a "Happy Valentine's Day"? To me, it seems at the very least inconsiderate with a borderline rudeness to it. The main reason I am asking is it just happened to me and I was actually kind of hurt that they wouldn't think about the fact that a day like this could be hard enough without the constant reminders from others. So, what do you all think? Rude or not?
