How do I get out of my lease?

My current lease is up this month and I renewed it for a different apartment in the same complex 9 months ago. Since then, my financial status has changed and I can no longer afford it. I am also getting married so I am moving out of state. I've been looking for someone to sublet this new lease but have had no success. What should I do?
