US Army Contract, I already sign but I've changed my mind, and refusing to Go To the Basic Training.?
I'm pretty sure, they're not going to throw you in jail. They'll be angry because they have to answer to their Commander as to why they lost you. If you don't want to go, don't go, it's that simple. Just take what ever they say to you and at the end of the day you'll be out. Like the others have said, think about it long and hard first though. Your young and the military might be the way to go. With a college degree you could become an officer with descent pay and benefits. If you feel the military isn't right for you, then that's just the way it is. There's only so much they can do to you. I went through something similar after I had already served a term. I couldn't find a job when I got out so went back to the recruiter looking to reenlist. Then I found a civilian job that I liked and didn't want to go back to the military. I told the recruiter I changed my mind. Of course he didn't take that answer very easily either. He hared me with phone calls at home and at work, threatening to list me as AWOL and have me locked up. In the end, he finally gave up. I got my honorable discharge and nothing happened. If they har you too hard, tell them you'll contact your local media. They hate bad press. You'll be fine, good luck.
