Sims bustin out for GBA using on DS?

Im stuck i am playing this game on my DS lite and im having to problems the first is that it wont save i save game and as soon as i go back on it has lost the memory can anyone tell my why? the secong is that im still on the first bit the uncle has told me to move into barn i go to the attic but i cant seem to put the furniture anywhere i was told to bring up the pocket thingy by pressing enter i have pressed every on, tried going in to catalog and nothing will work please help!!!!!
